Tom Spier - Founder & Managing Partner

Tom began his career in New York City in 2000 where he worked as an analyst for JP Morgan before moving to Connecticut as the newly hired Chief Operating Officer of Bear Naked, a start-up granola company. After a few fast years, the company was successfully sold to Kellogg's (NYSE: K).

The sale of Bear Naked to Kellogg's provided Tom the opportunity to move to Colorado, where he formed an investment vehicle which purchased a controlling interest in a company that became EVOL Foods through a rebranding effort. Tom and his partners rapidly built EVOL into a successful national brand and in 2013 sold the company to a public entity, which is now part of Conagra (NYSE: CAG).

In 2014, following the acquisition of EVOL Foods, Tom launched BFG Partners. His mission was to bring meaningful capital and big ideas to the growing number of young consumer packaged goods companies.

Since that time, BFG Partners has proudly worked alongside many companies across the United States, Canada and Europe. Tom currently serves on the board of directors of Bobo's, Greenspoon Sales and Caulipower. Previously, Tom served as a member of the board of directors of Chameleon Cold Brew (sold to Nestle) and Birch Benders (sold to Sovos Brands).

In addition to his role at BFG, Tom currently serves on the board of directors of two non-profit organizations including Chef Ann Foundation and Organic Voices.

Tom was born and raised in Santa Fe, NM. He attended Santa Fe Preparatory School and then Vanderbilt University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with honors and dual degrees in Economics and Spanish. Tom lives in Boulder, CO with his wife and family.
